Re: More Brides! The Story Doesn't End
by Anonymous
Yes....another one. I had order my bridal gown, my daughters dress, Matron of Honour and Bridesmaids dresses all in January of 2006 thinking I was right on track for my September 23rd wedding. I ordered my Jr. Bridesmaids dresses in March. I was told all the dresses would be in the first of May. May came and went with no dresses. At the end of May I called and left a message....no return call. Called three more times. Finally dropped into Sherwood and was assured they would be in beginning of July. Nope! Tried calling again but no one returned my calls AGAIN. I dropped in...was guaranteed all dresses would be in second last week of July. on July 10th I called and they booked me in for a fitting on July 23rd. My bridesmaid was coming in from out of town. On July 17th I called to confirm the dresses were in and guess what......right....no return call. On Thursday July 20th I tried calling again but couldn't get through and the answering machine was full all day. That's when I started getting really nervous. I hadn't seen the Global special in June. So...I dropped in and found myself in the middle of a hornets nest. A bride who was sitting there passed me the story the Global ran and as I read it my blood started to boil. Here I was 8 weeks before my wedding and no dresses. They didn't even have the courtesy to cancel the fitting. As I listened and spoke with the other bride's who were quickly filling up the shop I found out that I still had time. When I looked at the face of the poor bride who was leaving in two days and her dress was a mess and the couple who's wedding was SUPPOSE to be in June, and the ones who only had a week or two left...I realized how lucky I am because who managed to get my money back and with the kindness and professionalism that should go along with this kind of service managed to get all the dresses ordered with delivery dates weeks before my wedding from another shop. My concern is all those bride's out there that DON'T KNOW what is going on like me. I hope that everyone spreads the word where ever they go about Sherwood Bridal and expose them for the true scam artists they are. Tell the stores where you are registered at, tell your hairdresser and your estitician, tell your neighbours, your co-workers, your friends, your family, if you see them at a bridal show tell everyone around.....talk about it where ever you go so that hopefully another bride will have her special day saved.
