You can post at Yelp.ca, however I received an email back, after I posted a complaint I had, and it said that I may want to re-evaluate my contents as they had received a complaint from someone and they could not confirm whether it was an owner or not and they may have to remove it if it is deemed a liability. I have also heard that they may use negative replies to 'get' money from companies that are yelp'd about....I have recently had a terrible experience with a car dealer in Ottawa and complained to: Transport Canada, Better Business Bureau, OMVIC, Consumer Protection Agency, Facebook, Letters to the Editor and the list goes on...the BBB said they logged the complaint but it remains dormant unless someone asks, Transport Canada was none too concerned, OMVIC has been very helpful, so far, but if they do not get a response, I am back to taking them to small claims court.

Sean, thank you for your recent report on Third Party Gas suppliers likes of Direct Energy. I too was caught in their unrelenting contract to get out. I did sign up for a five yr. contract and of course at the time of signing back then, all they explained was the"benefit" of locking in for 5 yrs. as gas pricing was unstable or "volatile " and rates jumped without advance notice by Enbridge. What they failed to discuss back then was that I would automatically be locked in year to year contract at the going rate (FAR GREATER then what I signed up for and even more then Enbridge) if I did not inform them of my non aceptance of their renewal terms. That o fcourse did not materialize as they claim they sent me a notice of renewal....YEAH RIGHT...in any case, I was forced into a rate that was almost double the one I had originally signed. To say the least they "dinged" me for a penalty of almost $300 to cancel my plan for which they charged around $0.44 per cubic meter of gas. I reluctantly did, and good thing I did because today I got my gas bill from Enbridge at $0.235 per cubic meter with an additional credit of $0.062 for a grand total of $0.174 cubic meter of gas, which is cheaper then the five yr. contract that they had me sign up for a $0.27 cubic meter, FIVE YEARS AGO....GO FIGURE!!! Please keep doing the great work that you do and keep us all informed that pressure sales guys promising you savings is NOT what they promise nor do they tell you the whole truth of what is in the contract at expiry........

since Rogers Wireless is changing the terms and conditions of my contract by imposing a NEW fee of fifteen cents for each incoming text message, is it possible for me to legally terminate my contract with them witout incurring any penalties.

Hi Sean,
I am writing to you in hope that you can bring some awareness to consumers that had their debit card stolen. My wallet and blackberry was stolen on July 1st, and the person who stole my wallet went shopping with my debit cards. I am not sure how he figured out my PIN. He took out/spent about 1700$ from both of my debit cards (1 from TD and 1 from RBC). The money was part of the down payment for my first home. I did some investigation myself and went to the store he went shopping and the store was able to pull up footage of the person. I have contacted the police with this information but nothing has been done. ( they told me that they are too busy to deal with this kind of things) Long story short, I have filled a police report and I have contacted my banks the same day. Most of people would think that under this kind of situation, the bank will refund the money, however I have learned that is not the case. RBC has closed the investigation and denied a refund because they claimed that how would the person find out my PIN number. I have explained to them that I have no idea but they are basically saying that it's my own fault to have 1) an easy pin or 2) I am part of this claim.. I am still waiting to hear back from TD. I hope that you will be able to bring this story forward so that people will know that we are not always protected and the banks are just as bad as insurance company.
